Project Development and Implementation

The implementation of the assistance will be handled according to each specific country’s banking structure and capabilities.

The options which are constantly evolving will be tailor made to suit current governmental and banking requirements and can be updated and amended accordingly.

Main criteria we follow in this phase

DWB makes good practices for the design, implementation, and evaluation of projects. Our focus is based on four principles:

• Alignment: This addresses the specific strategic approaches of the assisted countries to provide them with tailor-made solutions.

• Effectiveness: This ensures that projects are based on clear evidence that addresses development needs and provides solutions. It is a priority that projects define clear and verifiable objectives, establishing control, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.

• Efficiency: This protects resources by ensuring that project benefits outweigh costs, promoting cost-efficient interventions.

• Risk and sustainability: These promote adequate risk management and the establishment of favourable conditions to maintain project results in the future.

Technical and control functions

It is DWB's responsibility to ensure that the assistance is used appropriately, and projects are realised on schedule within the initial specifications and requirements.

Studies, Proposals and Preliminary projects

Prepared studies and preliminary projects are forming the technical part and are presented to the governments together with the political and economic part of the initial proposal. After the initial meetings, when the feedback is positive and the country decides to continue with the process, presented proposals are discussed with the government representatives and experts and often further adapted and amplified by our team. As result, a series of specific projects has been developed for given governments such as:

  • Large fish processing complex for a coastal African country
  • Social housing
  • Several PV Power plants
  • Waste treatment plants
  • Bioethanol plants
  • Cement plant
  • Cashew nut process plants
  • Various sea ports in Africa and Latin America
  • Large green hydrogen plant
  • Complete country development plans

Accomplished technical work

Before we approach a government of a country already approved to be assisted, our technical team do an extensive research and study the current situation in the country, figure out its major necessities and emergencies to be addressed and prepare a set of proposals by sectors.
